When the template fits
Safe Standard provides documentation support but is not insurance, a vehicle inspection or a marketplace. Always verify that the rental, driver, use and geographic area are covered by insurance and applicable rules.
Booking and documentation are different layers
Booking can happen by phone, email, your website or a separate service. Safe Standard keeps the agreement, terms, handover, return and any damage follow-up in the same case.
What to document
The required fields depend on the asset and rental. The following points are a practical checklist for this intent:
- Registration and model
- Driver and contact details
- Mileage
- Fuel or charge level
- Existing damage
- Keys and equipment
- Permitted use and area
- Return time and inspection
Free backup documents in two languages
The app includes print-ready PDFs and editable ODT masters in Swedish and English. The language selector displays the correct version automatically.
How to use the template in practice
- Select Swedish or English in the app.
- Open or create a rental case.
- Complete the agreement and add custom terms when needed.
- Record handover and return with the same checklist.
- Create damage or cost documentation only after an actual deviation.
Practical tip: Use the same bodywork photo angles before and after, and photograph the dashboard with mileage and warning lights.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Not photographing mileage
- Leaving fuel or charge level out
- Failing to review insurance terms
- Recording the driver unclearly
Adapt it to the rules that apply
Safe Standard is a documentation tool, not legal advice, insurance or a payment service. You must check laws, permits, taxes, insurance and mandatory terms for the specific rental.
Swedish and English without choosing files manually
When Swedish is selected, the interface and PDF/ODT documents are Swedish. When English is selected, the corresponding English versions are used. The choice persists as you move between app pages.
Frequently asked questions
Does Safe Standard include insurance?
No. The app documents the rental. The lessor is responsible for checking insurance and permitted drivers.
Can I record mileage?
Yes. Mileage at handover and return can be recorded in the checklist.
Can I state an insurance excess?
You can document agreed terms, but check that they match the insurance policy and applicable rules.
Can the renter verify the document?
Case-specific documents can include a public verification link showing document metadata, not private agreement details.
